Call for Botanical Artist
FPA has been a community steward to Freeway Park since 1994. In partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation, FPA activates and advocates for Seattle’s most iconic downtown park. We design programs and services that meet the needs of all park users as we welcome everyone into our shared back-yard to create connections and experience art and nature in the heart of the city.
Our full-time staff is small so we offer opportunities to gig workers, artists and other professionals looking for unique experiences in a dynamic work environment.
Park Ambassadors - 2025
June - Sept | $23 per hour | Room to grow into permanent
The Freeway Park Association (FPA) seeks outgoing, compassionate people to join our team as summer ambassadors. The Park Ambassador will greet park visitors, set up daily park activations, and facilitate special programs and events. This position will start out as a temporary position with the potential to grow into a permanent position with associated benefits. Two positions available. Ambassadors will typically work together and share job responsibilities. (Schedule varies +/- 30 hours per week to start. $23/hr)

Call for Botanical Artists
Rolling deadline | June 21st event | $2000 artist’s stipend
The Freeway Park Association (FPA) seeks an artist to create a large-scale temporary art installation at Freeway Park during our annual Freeway Park in Bloom festival. Freeway Park in Bloom celebrates the bounty of the pacific northwest region, inviting participants to connect with local resources focused on sustainability and stewardship
This call is open to any artist, artist group, florist, farmer or grower working with plants or is inspired by botanical themes. We invite applications from artists who have or want to develop a relationship with Freeway Park and/or want to create work that is responsive to place. Artists who live and/or work in Seattle’s center city neighborhoods and artists who are members of BIPOC and LGBTQ communities are encouraged to apply.
This program is fully funded by a Horizon House Community Relations and Diversity Committee grant, Seattle Office of Arts and Culture - Hope Corps Grant and the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods - Community Partnership Fund with the goal of supporting art, a vibrant downtown community and diverse artistic expression.
