Heap, a Seattle-based performance troupe co-founded by Kara Beadle, Andy Zacek, and several collaborators, are excited to announce the first large-scale performance experience, HeapRide. HeapRide is a series of three 3-hour guided group bicycle rides featuring pop-up performances along the routes.

From behind their handlebars, audiences will be invited to experience Heap’s “absurdist” form of dance storytelling. A zany narrative will be revealed at frequent performance pit-stops, encouraging audience riders to continue pedaling to each destination. The ride will target new cyclists, using art as an avenue of accessibility to help introduce riders to their local bike shops, and show them safe and fun routes around town.

Heap invites members of the press to attend a Press Preview on April 11 from 3:30-5pm at Freeway Park to meet the performing artists, see a rehearsal, and learn more about HeapRide. Please email symonesanz@gmail.com to RSVP. This project is funded in part by the City of Seattle Office of Arts & Culture through Kara Beadle’s awarded CityArtist Grant and is made possible with support from Velocity Dance Center.
