Creative Start 2026

We are happy to announce the third year of Preschool in the Park, an arts-education program funded in-part by the ArtsWA Creative Start initiative. We will be working with teaching artists from different disciplines to teach a series of classes for preschool aged kids and their caregivers.

The curriculum goals include: creating a connection between children and their place in the community, learning about the diversity of the neighborhood and their classmates, and providing opportunities for no-cost arts and creative play.

Series 1: Spring 2026 - We are excited to welcome Hania Mariën to the Park to lead a series in visual arts.  Hania  (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist, educator and researcher. She co-runs Imagining More Just Futures, a social justice education project for children and their grown-ups, offering free resources and programming about identity, power and justice. All of her work is grounded in a strong belief that play and imagination are essential tools to work towards liberation.
