Creative Start
We are happy to announce the third year of Preschool in the Park, an arts-education program funded in-part by the ArtsWA Creative Start initiative. We will be working with teaching artists from different disciplines to teach a series of classes for preschool aged kids and their caregivers.
The curriculum goals include: creating a connection between children and their place in the community, learning about the diversity of the neighborhood and their classmates, and providing opportunities for no-cost arts and creative play.
Series 2: Spring 2026 - We are happy to continue Preschool in the Park, an arts-education program funded by the Washington State Arts Commission’s @artswa Creative Start initiative. We will be working with teaching artists from different disciplines to teach a series of classes for kids aged 3-6 yrs.
We are excited to welcome Mary Murphy to the Park to lead a series in visual arts. Mary Murphy is the founder of West Seattle Art Nest, a mobile and home-based art studio offering process-driven art experiences for children and adults. Through outdoor classes, school programs, messy play, and studio gatherings, she creates open-ended environments where creativity, curiosity, and connection can thrive.
Join us for one or all of our upcoming classes and stay tuned for more art classes coming to Freeway Park this summer!
